Chiropractic Care for Kids in Calgary NW

Helping children get off to a healthy start and supporting their development as they grow is an important part of what we do at Adjusted For Life Chiropractic Health Centre. Pediatric chiropractic care focuses on assessing how a child’s body moves and develops to identify any concerns early.
What Is Pediatric Chiropractic Care?
Pediatric chiropractic care begins with a detailed assessment of a child’s movement and development. We evaluate muscle tone, symmetry of movement, and the function of the spine, pelvis, and joints.
Developmental Assessment
During the assessment, we also observe developmental milestones such as sitting, standing, and walking. When appropriate, we check for common musculoskeletal concerns so parents have a clear understanding of how their child is progressing.
Our focus is always on careful observation, clear communication with parents, and determining whether chiropractic care is appropriate for the child.

What to Expect During the Visit
Children should wear clothing that allows them to move freely during their appointment. Restrictive clothing can make it difficult to assess the neck, spine, pelvis, and hips.
A parent must be present in the room for patients under 18 years old.
The first visit focuses on helping your child feel comfortable in the clinic and building rapport with Dr. Ford. We also take time to understand any concerns parents may have.
If a child is nervous, we adapt our approach. Infants may be assessed during tummy time with a parent, while older kids may play while we observe their movement and posture.
